You want to look in the mirror
But how can you?
You were raised on the belief that your self-worth is based on the relief received by those with preconceived notions of what a man should look like.
Your cheeks are too big for your face And your smile is laced with crooked bones and your mask looks nothing like the people that own acceptable facades.
Your nose is large where it shouldn’t be and yet not large enough to display the barge of masculinity that every boy has to strive for.
Your chin is weak and brittle and meek and you aren’t allowed to be anything less than the foundation of might despite swimming up the creek of insight because the lack of mass refuses to assure you that you are a man... because you are.
Nothing can change how you feel because emotions lie deep in an ocean men rarely sail and often fail to conquer since feelings dont provide anything useful other than upsetting the lies beset in the world’s eyes.
But you have to feel something...
Because suicide coincides with the inability to express how sad you are and the probability of taking your own life is high since statistics whisper that as a man you are more likely to die by the disease that sits in your mind rather than homicide.
Be kinder to yourself because the only opinion that matters is your own and you are beautiful and you are enough and you are a man who needs no permission to be himself or to look in the mirror.
