A Poetic Goodbye

Moving On from a Painful Past

By Godwil Bradon Published 2 years ago 1 min read

I think I’m done with you,

Our time was overdue,

Don’t reach through,

I won’t respond to you.

I hate you,

And everyone with the same name as you,

Found a new point of view,

So fuck you, Matthew.

I’m happier without you,

I wish you knew,

But you’ll never have a clue,

So I bid you adieu.

I've moved on,

I’m no longer a pawn,

No longer feeling torn,

It’s a brand new dawn.

We were never a match,

You were an itch I needed to scratch,

Just some lousy catch,

There’s no time to go back.

I’ve found my heart’s true batch,

My perfect match,

A brighter future we’re going to hatch,

Just two souls in love, no more itch or catch.
