A Poem Just To You
I wrote you this poem just for you, my dear.
For my soldier out there, I will always hold near.
When you wear that brave uniform, strong and proud,
Know my heart is with you, lost in the crowd.
Underneath the same sky, the stars softly gleam.
I feel your embrace in each whispering dream.
When the nights feel heavy and the days seem long,
Think of my love like a sweet, soothing song.
With every sunset that paints the sky bright,
I am sending you kisses that dance in the light.
You are my shining star, my joy and my cheer.
In this simple poem, my love, you are here.
So hold on to this love; let it guide you through.
For each moment apart, I am always with you.
Soon the day will come when I will see your sweet face,
Together at last in our warm, safe space.
