A Poem for Nigeria | For our Naija Queens and Kings

In the heart of Africa, Nigeria stands tall,

A tapestry woven with threads of hope and despair,

Where the sun rises over rich lands and vibrant peoples,

Yet shadows linger, casting doubts on tomorrow.

O Nigeria, cradle of diverse tribes,

From the valleys of the Niger to the peaks of the Jos,

You are a mosaic of cultures, languages, and dreams,

Yet your spirit is tested by trials unnumbered.

In the bustling streets of Lagos, life pulses,

But beneath the surface, pain and struggle reside.

Your children cry out for justice and peace,

While leaders falter in their promises of change.

We pray for you, dear motherland:

May your rivers flow with justice,

May your fields yield abundance for all.

Let unity blossom among your children,

As they rise together against the tide of division.

Awake from the slumber of corruption and strife,

Embrace the strength found in your diversity.

Let not greed overshadow the light of hope;

Instead, let compassion be your guiding star.

O Nigeria, we see a new dawn:

Where laughter fills every home with joy,

Where education opens doors to brighter futures,

And where every voice is heard in harmony.

We envision a land where peace reigns supreme,

Where love transcends boundaries and bridges gaps.

May your spirit soar like the eagle in flight,

Resilient and proud against all odds.

In this prayer for you, we stand united:

For every heartbeat echoes with dreams unfulfilled.

Together we shall weave a narrative anew—

A story of triumph over adversity.
