A poem about Novel Allen's July Challenge 'Savages'.
A grand total of 36 People read it,18 people commented and dropped a heart, a few subscribed...but how many actually participated? Time extended to July's end, with hopes a'plenty.
A right royal proclamation was sent out to all the lands
to all the valiant Knights and Knight-ess-es
residing within the realm of the royal kingdom
The victor would be richly rewarded, was the offered prize
(they all thought that iota idea of a rich reward was a tad bit skewed)
This, however, was what got whispered everywhere....why not offer the hands of the lovely princess and the handsome prince
Surely, that would bring the bravest of them all out to jostle and parry for the prize
The Queen sat prettily, if a bit jaded...awaiting the throngs of brave knights-sies.
Four gallant souls were first in line, readily awaiting
the beginning of the battle to the death
The royal Queenie kept her eyes peeled on the entrance, for surely
there must be more than four who wish'd for riches a'plenty
Alas! It seemed that she was doomed to wait in vain
For none but the four brave warriors would answer to the beastly and monstrous challenge
The slaying of the dragon it seemed, was much too daunting to the faint of heart, he was a monstrous beast indeed
So, although the Queen felt quite let down and utterly disappointed
She greatly applauded the courageous chutzpah and hardihood of the four:
Sir Gerard of Dileo
Sir Paul of Stewart
Sir Rommial of Butler
Sir Mike of Singleton
She immediately knighted them and thanked them most profusely for their stalwart and wonderous support.
n.b. This work is subject to update before the Queen ends the competition and issues the final proclamation to all those who refused to enter and compete....
"OFF WITH THEIR HEADS".
OOPS! Though quite headless, she belatedly sends out a cheery 'thank you' to all those who read and hearted. It is truly appreciated.
