A picnic at balloon flower tangle
on a silent bright day
of the month of harvesting flowers.
Ruby red ladbugs crawling on
the dark minty leaf trees
paints a picture of paradise.
Let me hike up the cornflower stone hills
as I inhale the bluebell scent.
As always, I follow my sense of
sweet, bursting milk and honey.
I listen to the song of
sparkly fairies flying,
chanting, kissing and blowing.
Circling around the shamrock lawn,
a group of children and babies
and eat on a cherry red checkered blanket.
They smell the springy scent
and see the Tahitian typhoons travel around
the dewy, misty multicoloured fields
of dandelions, pink and purple bellflowers.
Azure vikings and sapphire gnomes play music
in an orchestra of tickling flutes and recorders.
Like a band of talking toys
playing the guitar, singing and dancing,
they embrace, face the audience
and perform on the rainbow field stage.
A cherry vanilla cake with sangria pearls and fluff
sits on a bed of chewy chocolate cookies.
A glass pitch of tart, raspberry punch
poses by the artistic dessert platter.
They gobble down clumps of cake,
chug down glasses of juice
like starving pigs and dogs.
As they go sunbathing,
the colour of the celeste blue sky
catches their eyes.
