A Pagan Portal: Memories from a Town of Ribbons
Day 6 | 25 Days of Poetry Challenge
I used to be from a town of ribbons
That danced at their own pace.
How then, could they still manage to partner the trees so well?
Both bending in song and solitude
Both glistening in the light
And in the night,
Rivaling the shimmering shinies (thrones eons old!)
As stars of their own.
Just tracing them softly...
With my finger in the sweet berry wind
I see the two:
sighing and laughing within
Secretly.
You just wouldn't know unless you knew them personally
A jingling swish
A majestic stop
A wild traverse
To a lingering rock
And to predict was delightful!
A bet amongst friends
Their voices: a riddle
I still return to, at my own pace...
I can't seem to remember
Much more than how they used to dance together
A thought in a bubble that pops to rubble but -
I'm sure that there's more to this dirt and to rocks
Yes. The two would've told me, but I kind of forgot.
This poem is part of a series of 25 daily word experiments I am committing to for the month of October. The motto: “Sometimes garbage, sometimes sweet, not fun everyday, but everyday anyway!” Intrigued to experience what can be created (and discovered) in the process of developing a consistent writing practice, I will be writing a poem a day until my Vocal+ subscription ends at the end of the month. Let’s gooooo!
