A Non-Magical Tale
Every final is a new beginning…

***
The hours slipped away long, long ago -
Like beads from broken strings that softly fall -
They rattled - one more lyrical echo -
Behind the pages of a book - old and small.
And who would count them, those that swiftly flew
Through faded dreams and wishes never found?
The bed lay crumpled - torn and tangled through -
Like spider's webs lost, frayed, and unbound,
Abandoned in a cold and dusty place…
Did she deceive him there with hidden lies?
Or did he end it quickly - no embrace,
No truth to pierce through the silence in his eyes?
Their breathless hours faded after all -
As truths and lies entwined, a tangled thread,
And what began - with hope, so bright, so tall -
Was crossed out by the words they left unsaid.
For maybe on their path, they somehow lost
A simple thing he never dared to give -
A gift denied, at an unspoken cost,
While trapped within the life he chose to live.
She stopped - she sought the roads that led to him,
Yet she found pain and cold indifference there.
So off she ran - alone, her hope grown dim -
No guiding light, just sorrow in the air.
Perhaps their hours slipped like grains of sand -
Through fingers lost to fate, beyond their hold -
They chased the winds down every shadowed strand,
Yet all they found was loneliness grown cold.
And what the fate predicts, so must it be -
Life is no line drawn straight across the sky -
It bends and breaks in unknown mystery,
And reaches realms where even stars may die.
Each ending births a dawn - a tear, a breath -
Where hours rise anew from what was broken -
In waiting veins and hearts defying death -
A hope - unclaimed - a truth left yet unspoken.

This is beautifully bittersweet—like the untold stories that linger. Such a powerful reflection on time and missed chances. Really enjoyed it! The things we don't say often weigh the most.✨
