A New Creation Made of Hues

We live in the contrast of retreating and hiding our pain in black or striving for a false reality of laced white. The ability to live in the middle and embrace our pain with redemption and truth helps us bring our perspective through a kaleidoscope of colors.

A New Creation Made of Hues

I’m a collection of hues

Every part of me stained

Wearing each encounter

Each heartbreak

Every tear aligned with every smile

I used to drench it in black

Tucking away every piercing blue

Never wanting an eye exposed

That a bright soul like me

Could adorn a gloomy grey

But I’ve learned that scars

Open up space

For a mixture of hues

The contrast of a joyous yellow

Against a bruising purple

My prideful chartreuse no longer alone

Redeemed by the lessons of my cleansing scarlets

Embraces the eyes

In the most peculiar way

Yet I was pressed into being just one color

The bright, strong, most boldest shade

I’ll stand tall in my blue smudges

No longer interested in society’s masterpiece portraying the blank canvas

the “best foot forward “

I am a mess of the most beautiful colors

A Footprint of fossilized rainbows
