Are you my friend or my love
Who are you, my dear
You ask me to sleep on your lap
You lean on my shoulder
But when I come closer, you say I’m just a friend
Why do you hold me so tightly
Devour me until my soul is gone
I melted like wax in your warmth
Oh, my poetry, will you fall in love with me?
Even in dreams, you appear
Touching my eyelids, waking me up
Every night, I survive through death
What’s your answer? Tell me, it’s you
I stood longing for a drop of water
You gave me a downpour
And swept me away
I stood carrying crosses
You gave me comfort
And lifted me high
The teardrops at the edge of my eyes
You replaced them with joy and dried them away
In a desert, you gave me flowers
And showed me heavens close to my sight
In blackness, I dreamed
Morning felt like night
Oh, angel in white
You brought colors and stood near me
In the darkness, I stood alone
You lit fireflies to guide me
Trapped in an empty room
You gave me wings to soar
Like an island battered by waves
I felt stuck and adrift
Like a flower crushed under ritual feet
I withered away
God never comes to Earth
He sends a mother instead
Even that mother is not here for me
So, He gave me a mother
In the form of you
