A Moment Beside The Road
We stood there just a moment though
By Andrew WittenburgPublished 6 years ago • 1 min read

When whispers of the night draw near
I feel the need to pull off here
With stars that shine in darker skies
At home, they never seem so clear
Against a field of fireflies
There’s twinkling in lows and highs
Against my shoulder lies her head
And upward goes our blurry eyes
The thicker clouds, away they fled
And city lights, the sky has shed
But while we gaze we ever know
The journey ever lies ahead
The way the stars do seem to glow
Should make us stop and see them show
We stand here but a moment though
We stood there just a moment though
