A mind uncapped
the what if's that run through the mind of an empathic soul.
What if this world could indeed be,
One where there were no reasons to flee.
No heart ever taken over by greed.
The system becoming aware and then meeting everyone's needs.
Regardless of the past, every person having a voice.
Not one robbery of an individual's choice.
Parents never forced to bury their young.
Murder never happening for a financial fund.
Our days never feeling like another rerun.
No need for any created masks.
Not one attorney making a lie the task.
No children ripped from the ones they love most.
No demons roaming and in need of a host.
Crimes not happening due to insane and harsh beliefs.
Everyone on board in choosing not to be thieves.
Men and women finding an ability to love themselves,
So then capable of loving each other.
Harsh judgements taken off the unfairly judged mothers.
Gone forever extra burdens, heartaches, and betrayals.
A system that stops choosing to consistently fail.
Sickness not happening due to stress.
Love being everything it should be and nothing less.
Was Lennon crazy or are we the ones brainwashed?
Is it truth that we choose to stay lost?
A world with no hate, prejudice and chaos,
Too many believe it will never come without cost.
Hearts from all sides complacent, forming a frost.
I believed long ago that most people are good.
At their core not bad but perhaps misunderstood.
The roughest lessons swooped in,
in so many ways making me grow up.
I now know all too well some humans only survive
By draining another's full cup.
Can you imagine all of the what ifs though?
The things we may begin to see!
If all of us sharing this earth were equal as well as equally free?
Turning a back to the evil things,
Putting real love back as the main key.
Planting the seeds that grow the new trees.
I stay this course because I truly believe,
Even if opposed by the ones who do not agree.
Let those ones play pretend and leave it all to the sea.
A world that is what it is, from beginning to the very end,
May require such massive and constant mends.
Allow not your soul to fall for pointless trends.
Rather, hope for love to connect us all so we become true friends.
