A Midnight’s Prayer

A cry for help, to the only one who can save; meant to be read like a Psalm.

It is me again, my God,

I am again in need of rescue.

I cry out to you, as my eyes have never teared more.

I cry out to you, as rivers burn their way down my face.

My chin has become a waterfall.

My days have become like war and my nights like torture.

I cannot close my eyes, the enemy has infiltrated my dreams.

He whispers shame to my ears,

he is a plague to my senses.

My heart has become like rubble.

Come to me, God of truth and God of comfort!

I am here, again in need of your rescue.

I cry out to you, and beg for your peace to replace my fear.

I cry out to you, please restore my soul.

To you I flee, meet me here in the night,

Speak to me, my God!

Allow your speech to release the grasp slumber's absence has on me.

To the God of peace I give my prayer,

and my night's cry.

Please rescue me, my God!

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
