A love story went wrong

I know that we’re over

But I read back the poems I wrote about us

It hurts that we could go from something great to nothing at all

And I re-read the songs you wrote for me

Oh how foolish was I to believe the things you said to me

Now we’re strangers who know each other inside and out

Maybe we were put on this earth to teach one another a lesson

Although it all hurts right now I know it’ll get better

So I’ll reread the songs and poems just to feel something once again

Now our love story is only alive in these pages of my journal
