A Lost Object's Lament
A Meaningful Item Lost And Forgotten, Expressing It's Longing To Be Found Again.
By Aliyu MustaphaPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

In pockets deep, no longer held,
A forgotten friend, a story quelled.
A button nose, once bright and bold,
Now lost and cold, a tale untold.
I used to bring a joyful smile,
A comfort soft, a teddy's guile.
Through laughter's peak and tears that streamed,
A loyal friend, so it would seem.
But playgrounds fade, and seasons turn,
New faces come, for lessons learned.
A misplaced hug, a careless toss,
Left in the dust, a forgotten loss.
The sun beats down, the rain pours free,
A silent plea, unseen by thee.
I dream of hands, so warm and small,
To hold me close and love me all.
Oh, take me back to days of glee,
A child's embrace, a memory.
For in this world, so vast and wide,
A lost toy's heart, forever cries.
