A Loser In Your Game of Chess

Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge Day 23

What is this strange game of chess

That has all of a sudden begun?

A relationship turned into an ugly mess

Once your king and you, my queen

Replaced by a world of undue stress

You think you have found a new white knight

I think he’s black, I must confess

Took away all that we once had

Neutralized your kiss and soft caress

The bishop knows he judges all

There is no way that he will bless

The lies and deceit that have come to light

The false love that you now profess

No longer am I your shining knight

Now I’m alone, retired

The lowly pawn in your game of chess.

Till next time,

Calvin

A sad one, Calvin. Chess is a good analogy for relationships isn't it? I've done one which is similar today. Great minds and all that.
