A Little Walk
A #quarantinepoem inspired by getting out for a bit

A little walk
To stretch the legs
Take big gulps
Of cold, fresh air
Then hold it in
As people pass
Smile awkwardly
And shrink
To avoid their touch
A little walk
But not in the park
Too people-y
Instead we stroll
On hard asphalt
The mute factories
And deserted depots
Echo with our footsteps
And our voices
Sound like whispers
A little walk
But not too far
We use our elbows
Knees and toes
To push doors
And touch buttons
Then back inside
To our tiny refuge
High above the world
Where we watch
And sigh
About the Creator
