A Little Rhyme About A Murphy Bed And Guests

Our youngest daughter, my sister-friend, and a niece that has stayed in the guest bedroom.

She said does my dad hate me?

I said we don’t want permanent guests you see.

Is he trying to kill me?

Oh, honey, he is not!

All over a murphy bed with one camper mattress we bought.

Our youngest asked if her dad hates her when she layed on the bed.

She said, “Does he want me dead?”

A friend said, “I have a shoulder problem, and I didn’t get much sleep the last time I stayed!”

Is that why you haven't come over to visit more often? I thought that was what was involved, why you went right home last time as you were afraid!

It’s okay as we added another mattress.

If you will be troubled, please sleep with me for no more stress

I told our youngest to try to worry less

Oh honey, it is what you slept on for years in the popup

My niece stayed and stayed and stayed, then suddenly up

and out she went! Was it the mattress we wondered?

She didn’t say anything. Did we not know we blundered?

My sister friend said, “No, it will be okay,

me as the Guinea pig, we will see today!”

Oh no honey, how did you know he said that?

“He told me!” The brat!

Summary:

The murphy bed is in my office to give me more room to work and to be able to set up a worktable to put together books. Guests for an overnight or two here are fine.

Apparently, the good news is that a double mattress is better than the single one. Staying longer than a night or two gets in the way of my writing and part-time work. Is it wrong to not have a comfortable bed on purpose? Is this bad form?

LOL! I love that you have an uncomfortable guest bed, so they don't stay too long. This made me laugh :) It's great you put this into poetic form!
