A little slip through the cracks
It's too easy
Because when the world smothers
Liquidates, and your bones turn to jelly
It's hard not to
Slip through the
Cracks
~ ~ ~
This is, arguably, an apology letter.
I've been slipping a little too much, a little too frequently.
With so much weight it's easy to fall through
Like those satisfying videos of something being crushed
The hydraulic press
But honestly
There's nothing satisfying about this
[well, maybe just a little]
It's mostly just embarrassing
Seeing yourself fall through
knowing maybe you could have caught onto something
even though you spotted nothing that could have held you up.
An apology
for circumstances I couldn't have seen
but still feel ashamed for.
So here is my letter
to say [I'm sorry]
in the kindest way
for something I regret
for liquidating under the pressure of the hydraulics.
[for slipping]

After being gone for a month, after already disappearing for a few weeks, I felt the need to make an acknowledgment of it. I hope to be back on track with my challenges, and with my presence on Vocal. You all deserve it. Thank you all for your reads and likes and comments, despite my shortcomings <3

No apologies needed!! Walk lightly, no worries. 🤗🤗🤗
Lovely poem and great to have you back! No need for apologies, life is life! We all vanish a little bit from time to time. I've found (at least for me) that holding a gun to my head just makes me way more stressed about stuff. Take it easy and give what you can. We'll be here :)
Thank you for the update and like Paul said, you don't have to apologize. Life can get in the way and things have to take a back burner sometimes. I'm glad you're back and I hope everything is better. I do love this poem especially the use of a hydraulic press as putting pressure on you and the weight crushing you. That imagery makes this poem easy to relate to.
Ach, don't you even dare apologise for anything, Belle! You put a lot of effort into stuff when you're here. I've had my own juggling issues of late and I don't even think I do half as much you do to contribute so meaningfully to the community of writers here. This is a beautifully penned poem, though, and one I feel and can relate to! :) Welcome back!
Glad to have you back and take it easy.
What a beautiful description of a painful process! Life happens, and it's all right to be caught up in it. Happy to see you back on Vocal!
Aww, you're completely allowed to take breaks, even accidental ones, Belle! Life is still life, haha. I've had to learn to forgive myself for taking hiatuses too, though. I'll be looking out for your next challenge :D
Awww, you never have to apologies for anything! Sending you lots of love and hugs ❤️
