A Light That Burns

A Poem of feeling dark from the light

By Isobel AckermanPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

The light is radiant,

and glowing among the clouds.

The Sun provides that warmth,

of which never brings you down.

But staying within this light,

exposing yourself under the sun,

will leave your burnt and regretful,

wishing things could be undone.

The darkness may seem evil,

isolating you from our world,

but what if it cloaks you,

guarding you,

from ever being burned.

What if the darkness is a friend,

and the light is too good to be true.

Do all things good come with a price,

and is the darkness only protecting you?

Authors note: Hey there, Isobel here! Really pleased with how my poem on the light and darkness turned out. What is your perspective from this? How do you see the light and dark? Whether being literal or metorphorical. Would love to know what you think! Feel free to contact me through my Facebook, Isobel Ackerman.
