A lesson written in Heartbreak

Scars that still ache

By PSYGENIUSPublished 10 months ago 1 min read
Leaving silence where loved used to be

1.

You never said goodbye,

just walked away,

leaving silence where love used to be.

2.

Some nights,

I trace the shape of you

in the emptiness beside me.

3.

Love doesn't leave,

it lingers-

in songs, in scents, in the spaces between.

4.

I tried to forget you,

but your name still

rests on the tip of my sorrow.

5.

They say time heals,

but no one tell you

about the scars that still ache.

6.

Maybe we were never meant to last-

just a lesson,

written in heartbreak.

7.

The moon still rises,

though it lost the sun-

so I, too, will glow alone.

8.

Your words, once gentle,

now haunt my ribs like echoes-

love turned to a ghost.
