A land of color

Nourishment for the soul

By Natalia Perez WahlbergPublished 5 years ago 1 min read
The colors within us are the same as those without us

Yellow, the first hue I saw today,

when I woke up to the sun smiling on my face.

I felt giddy, joyous and lively.

A perfect day for my soul to play.

Blue hit me like a storm,

with its perfect hue dressing the sky

its soft hand touching the ocean,

it was pure perfection for the naked eye.

Green was there to cheer me on,

draping each leave of every tree,

whispering songs

of growth and glee.

Sing with us,

the brown sand screamed,

join our tune,

it’s one of joy, they deemed.

Hold our hand,

the pink flowers said,

come to our land,

they smiled on.

I took care to remove the grey,

the black, the white,

and all the shades,

I was in a land of color,

which my red heart was yearning for.
