A Kiss at a Time

Hello, Goodbye, Good Morning, Goodnight

By Mercedes ChavezPublished about a year ago 1 min read

When the sunlight hits your eyes just right

I can see the streaks of green in your perfectly hazel eyes

Watching you work, my eyes always go to your arms

Watching how you move and how the veins pop when you flex

Feeling your hands anywhere on my body

Sends pulses of heat to my very core

When you hold your hand against my face

I can feel every cold part of my heart melt

I can't keep eye contact with you for very long

Because I'm scared you'll be able to see into the deepest parts of my soul

After every visit and every phone call

I have to resist the urge to say, "I love you"

So, for now, I will kiss you with every hello, good morning, goodbye, and goodnight

And be happy for as long as I am yours
