You know how kids would always smile a lot

When they receive gifts from someone

Or when they’re happy for no reason at all?

I was like that around you

I smiled like a fool who was in love

Hopelessly devoted to you

My heart gave itself away

So many times

At the sight of your face

So gentle

I grinned in a silly way

But you never noticed

My heart would jump in joy

When you’d walk into the room

With your bright smile

And it felt just like when I was a kid

The world was perfect

And I had someone I adored

Who wouldn’t leave me

When I said I loved you.
