Peak of darkness growing near
Entering the longest night
But this vast shadow is nothing to fear
For now begins the return of the light
*
The days will soon grow longer again
The warmth will soon return
The earth, and we, will soon wake renewed
As the new year approaches ‘round the turn
*
Now in our anticipation
We gather to celebrate
To reap the harvest we’ve sown this year
And reflect on the progress we’ve made
*
The challenges we’ve overcome
The lessons that we’ve learned
All the things that we’ve achieved
And the joyous moments we’ve savored
*
It all comes together in this moment now
As the long night stretches on
And there’s so much to celebrate as this year ends
So let the joy of the harvest carry on
*
The aroma of cinnamon fills the home
With holly and ivy adorned
Mingled with bits of red green and gold
Candles lit, the hearth aglow
*
In the gleaming hearth and candles’ flames
We envision the sun shining again
And in the peak of darkness, amidst the wintry dusk
We find warmth in the fire, and the company of those we love
*
