A Hope's Goodbye

clasping at shadows

That thing that I seek,

It lies in the deep, entrenched in the darkest of space.

Sharp claws digging down,

In stillness of sound, capitulating to one not so weak.

Blood within stone,

Wriggling moan, I'm beset by tragic so true,

The thing that I crave,

While I ranted and raved, that thing- away it did flew.

The imagery of something sought in the deep and darkest spaces creates a mysterious and haunting atmosphere, the final line leaves the reader with a sense of loss and yearning, thank you very much for sharing, love your works, hope to read more, subscribed.
