I wander along these streets alone,

Looking for something to lift my tone.

All around me food beckons to me,

The hard thing is; where can it be?

I've searched high and low for any little scrap,

But all I see are men wearing a funny cap.

They point to me as I walk on by,

Their gazes are strange for reasons I know not why.

Soon a morsel drops before my feet,

A succulent little fish; oh what a treat.

Another follows soon after leading right to the men,

Quickly I'm surrounded; is this a mess I am in?

To my surprise they give me a lift,

And soon we're on a boat set far adrift.

I lay on the bow looking for any little clue,

As to why I've been brought with this ever merry crew.

All to quickly the answer comes flying in,

Flopping around with scales and fin.

The crew soon rejoice and bring me a cut,

Oh how my tongue sang to my happy gut.

Now I'm not alone and my crew is bright with cheer,

I couldn't be happier to have a family always near.
