A Heart Still Waiting

Lost in Yesterday's Love

By Black RosePublished about a year ago 1 min read

I watched you drift away,
Your footsteps fading slow,
And while you kept on walking,
I stayed, unable to let go.

The world moved on without me,
But I’m stuck in the past,
Holding onto moments
That I hoped would always last.

You found new skies to chase,
I stayed beneath the rain,
Reaching for your laughter,
While holding onto pain.

I feel your warmth around me
In the places you once were,
But now the quiet lingers
Where your voice was soft and sure.

I smile like I'm healing,
But inside, I still stay,
Caught in what we built together
That time won’t take away.

So here I am, in shadows,
Locked inside my mind,
Loving you in memories,
A heart you left behind.
