Innocent untainted soul of a child,
unlike many adults who are full of guile.
A classic game of hide and seek,
right after a kiss on the cheek.
Children keep us young and free,
if we but let them, don’t you agree?
I feel like a kid at heart,
when I hold my breath under the bed, running to hide just nineteen and a half seconds from the start.
I am so glad that I found you again,
little child, with an adorable smile for the win!
Now, it’s your turn to hide,
maybe behind the other shower curtain side?
It’s funny the way you get a tad bit scared even when it’s just a game and you know I can’t be far,
time will flash and soon you’ll be asking for a car!

this is so beautiful. i definitely relate to feeling like a kid at heart!!
Aww... Your poem is warm and nostalgic. ✨ I'm glad to know that a little mischievous child is still out there; somewhere in you. I think no matter how much you grow, the child inside you always remain alive. hiding behind curtains when someone was finding me would feel like death, 'cause I knew my feet were visible... It would feel like an illegal move. And then, mama would catch me 😄🤭
I play hide and seek with my little cousin all the time and it reminds me of when I would play at her age, this poem is perfect for the situation!
Oh, this is such a sweet and playful piece! The innocence, the joy, and that little wink at how fast time flies—just perfect! Loved the humor in the ending too—classic! ✨
Nice one!!!
This is very beautiful. The game of hide and seek used to be so much fun in childhood. Your poem also reminds us of that lost innocence, which fades away upon growing up. Wonderful! ✨😊
I love this 😍 she'll be grown up soon enough, so definitely enjoy every moment here and now. You're a great Dad and it's really wonderful. ❤️
