A Friend, Turned Foe IV

Desire, why are you doing this to me?... What have ever done to you, to deserve your torment?... You take and steal from me, everything... -when all I wanted, was to be a friend. But not anymore, you've earned your title, "enemy" … "foe" … "adversary" … You were never my friend, I can see now, that, that never would have happened.

Desire‐

you stand before me,

with all your "allies"

everything you've turned against me‐

I always knew

that if anything would be the death of me,

it would of course, be you

Desire‐

my eyes, my hands and feet,

you've taken hostage‐

hope and peace,

you've slain before me‐

slumber left long ago, leaving to me only its absence

and I removed romance from me myself,

before you could get your ill-intent hands on it

Desire‐

all that's left, is you and I

so what'll it be?

will you put an end to me?

or I you?

because...

Desire‐

I know

that if anything were to be the death of me,

of course, it would be you

Desire‐

and I know, you know it too.

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
