A Flower And A Snug

Desires of an hopeless romantic

By josie jamesPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Flowers and a Snug

I desire me some flowers,

A doorstep delivery every season;

Lilies and roses during summer

Tulips and some English primrose in winter

Or marigolds and violas in Autumn.

Chuckling as I put down this list

For a girl who was never given a stem

I request for a whole bunch.

I desire me a snug,

A safe aboard for my vagabond soul.

I crave the experience of a fairytale romance,

A home in a human

With a spice of royal treatment.

A ghost companion whose name I could call

“Mine”

My abstract mind snapped back to reality

No doorstep delivery of seasonal flowers

No fairytale romance or homely snug

Just the acceptance of the impossibility

to be loved the way I want to be loved.
