he eats his meatballs, a great delight

a sub above burgers and fries

and all that's best of meat he bites to

meet in his mouth to his tongue's surprise.

thus bellows from his stomach might

a buzz of pleasure, tears from his eyes.

one meatball more, one blue cheese dress

had much repaired the sense of taste

that during covid was rendered less.

to gently napkin to leave not a trace

where sauces deliciously caress

the mouth, the cheek, tooth and face.

and on that plate, all that he foregoes

to taste, to smell this divine scent

the balls of sin, that much like snow

have the tastebuds play as children

did before that virus we did undergo,

we revel, until the next pandemic begins.
