Between the boys who were no good,
And the girls with no interest.
I decided to take myself out today.
I wore the pretty pink dress
I got long ago.
Brushed some sparkling glitter on my lids
And curled my hair.
I stared at myself in the mirror
“You look very pretty.”
I drove the local coffee shop.
And got the expensive cookie with my coffee.
The one with the heart sprinkles.
And smiled, for just me.
I wondered down the street,
To the bookshop to take a peek.
And lost myself in the romance shelves.
Where Romeos and Juliets lived.
I picked up a poem book,
And found my love in a verse.
And went and got it from the store clerk.
Who gave me a free book mark inside.
Not wanting to end just yet.
I stoped in the meadow just down the road.
And picked myself wildflowers.
To remember this time with myself.

Im glad you enjoyed yourself! You can always take yourself out! Great work!
Aww, so romantic and a beautiful take on having a "me-time". We truly deserve to date ourselves sometimes. Thanks for this beautiful poem!
This is such a sweet, warm poem about self-love and celebrating solitude. A reminder to love our own company and be as kind to ourselves as we would to others, appreciating little things in life. I just adore the line "And picked myself wildflowers," for it so perfectly encapsulates the act of giving oneself something simple yet beautiful. 🌞
