A Deadly Game of Snakes and Ladders

Life’s a board, a roll of dice,

Climb a ladder — how nice, how nice.

A step, a leap, you’re flying high,

Then a hiss, a slip — goodbye, goodbye.

The snakes are quiet, coiled and still,

Waiting soft with silent thrill.

One wrong move, you lose your ground,

Sliding back without a sound.

Ladders gleam with hope and height,

A sudden rise, a spark, a light.

But every square, a risk, a fall,

A deadly game — you risk it all.

Roll again, the dice won’t care,

Chance and fate — an unfair pair.

Climb, descend, it’s all the same,

Life’s just snakes and ladders’ game.

Yet still we play and still we payđź’”

An adult look at the original children's game of Chutes and Ladders that is still for me a fun game to play. Good job.
