A Day Of Smiles, Relief And Gratitude
I’m back on track
It’s time, there’s always that day that arrives
That day that you wake, something’s changed,
And you know, the brooding days are behind
Today, I can smile as my sadness is exchanged.
***
It’s time, to process the pain and put it to bed
A day giving a metaphorical slap to the head,
Not a day for tears, but one of smiles instead
A wake up call, a stern talk to, you’re not dead.
***
Today I move on to another chapter of my life
A day to concentrate and work on my gratitude,
To put my trust back into my higher power
It’s all as it’s meant to be, my belief renewed.
***
Remember today there’s a reason for it all
You lost now so that you can receive better,
This wasn’t part of your original game plan
Set up at the beginning with your Soul together.
***
Stick to the plan, temper your choices as you go
There’s a well thought out plan, a certain stringency,
Keep the original game plan forefront in your mind
While you hold tight to your back up contingency.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
