A Daughter New

Around the Corner

By Earl W. PearlPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

I think of the joy that’s in store for my boy

Announcing he's found the right girl

How clearly you’ll see when you find him to be

That gem that's as fine as a pearl

So what’s this about since you’re still a ways out

Just had you and my son on my mind

You may weaken his knees yet put him at ease

God made you the woman he’ll find

He was taught how to live and taught how to give

How to always put you before him

To open your door and to never keep score

And be ready to laugh on a whim

Intuition is strong but can often be wrong

Consider before you react

Here's something to know so the two of you grow

His character isn’t an act

Now if ever there’s stress, I have to confess

That “peace” is way better than “right”

It’s not always fun when the honeymoon's done

But a date can rekindle the light

Remember that “me” must evolve into “we”

You both will be stronger as one

His mother and father will welcome you daughter

That day that you marry our son
