A capsule relegated to time
Haiku about the power of burying relics from the past

The Steve Miller Band song Fly Like an Eagle tells us that Time keeps on slipping slipping slipping into the future. And he did not lie. The idea of a time capsule placed in the earth in 1973 that will be opened in 2023, 50 years later is amazing. The contents have remained intact and encapsulated until the day of the unveiling. Life and time have marched on but whatever is inside is unscathed by life happening above ground. With each tick of the tock the old-fashioned hands on a clock moved along through seconds, minutes, hours, days months years, and decades until the moment of unveiling is at hand. This Haiku sums up the time capsule experience.
