A Candle

In Your Memory

By Ms AbigabaPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

It's that time of the year again

When I light a candle

To restore my hope

Hope that we shall meet again

Time flies so fast and the view is blurry

But!

The little things we shared

The little precious moments

The last days of harmony

Keep every moment coming back in flashes

Piece by piece

I'm still holding on to everything about you

Though

The thought of you cripples my soul

Maybe being in your arms one last time

Is all I need for my aching heart

But I've grown fond of the idea of you being gone

I like to believe

You embraced the walls of tranquillity

The kind of peace that let's you settle in just fine

Like I have grown to sleep on a dry pillow every night

I'm selfish

Selfish to want you back

But

What is a child without her daddy!
