A Brief Contemplation

Doing everything forgetfully, going half-insane

By Marti MaleyPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

a sip of coffee

burns my tongue

carefully I set the mug down

did I expect anything different?

even after

fifty-nine years of life

give or take

Helen, (my wife) is right

I have no patience.

joke’s on me, I suppose

knowledge is power

lessons are repeated until learned

my brow furrows

naturally this means I am, indeed, ignorant

or stubborn, silly, daft

probably mad

quietly I contemplate

reasons why she left

self-sabotage is your true partner

that was the last thing she said

unquestionably she is correct

vicious, she was

women often have that effect

x chromosome problems, turner syndrome, depression

yes, that must be why she ran

zenful, I sip, and burn my tongue again.

Ah ha! Abecedarian! And how clever. Tell him it is usually that Y chromosome that is an issue, LOL.
