A Breath of Reflection

A poem to remind myself of who I am.

Swimming in the wisps of memories,

dragging my pitiful corpse onto shore once more,

I realise how clouded my nature has been:

Lost in thought with meandering dreams.

So dreary have my eyes been that were forced shut to reality,

Lost in thought;

with a looped tune resounding and ringing endlessly.

Not broken, but playing restlessly. Without rest, nor understanding.

But forming plumes of clouds filled with dreamy ecstasy.

If daisy chains could stay the same and forever stay fresh, would they be sweet?

I’d be who I was and not what I wanted, so warm to let it all free.

I’ll smile again, and sigh again and let my mind run amok.

For in these thoughts, that madness is me:

and I’ll embrace all I’m meant to be.

With broken chains, like wings they soar,

a burden uncertain,

a word to you from me:

I’ll finally let this passion out and be assured,

I’m happy as one can be.

With passion comes heart and with both, a mess

but I’m all open for everyone to see.

It might be dark, or bloody, or rough

but its just what I want to write freely.

With encrypted lines, and off-beat sentences, so do we come to an end.

Just remember this and read once more:

this is a testament to remind myself of who I want to be.
