A Beautiful Masterpiece...

Skin of brown clay, like the mud of Mother Earth.

Trampled by the feet of life’s many challenges.

Burnt by the many fires of deceit, betrayal and heartache.

These memories hang like paintings on the walls of my heart.

Rich with deep strokes of vibrant colors from the past.

Dark reds scream from the canvasses of life’s scars.

With splashes of bright yellows from the all too fleeting moments,

Of beauty, grace and love.

Yet from the ashes is molded a beautiful masterpiece,

Of great strength and inner beauty.

Which now stands tall like an oak tree, Arms outstretched,

Offering a safe haven of refuge and sovereignty.
