50,000 Words In November
I am writing a forward, afterward, resource pages, and editing conversations for my book.
NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month is no longer. Some other writing spots have begun in response to NaNoWriMo no longer being there for this purpose. The one I looked at has to be all written into their program as new writing, and edits don't count. And I'm sure it costs.
A couple of people on Vocal Media mentioned the other program to me. I was given the information and will look into it for next year. I am keeping track of my own numbers on a spreadsheet and doing okay so far. As of yesterday, I had 36,143 words.
50,000 - 36,143 = 13,857 divided by eight days is 1,733 words per day that I have left to complete my goal. Okay, that is a bit much per day with continuing to publish here every day. I should have thought to count those words too, but I never have before, so I'm not going to start now.
With NaNoWriMo
You didn't have to be a pro
But it gave you a good start
in writing a book with heart
I took the time after to edit
and self-publish for gifts, and it
helped me to sell a few books.
This is the one to get some looks.

Each of the conversations held
are filled with stories that upheld
my belief that this would be
an important topic, before we
pass on. Women in their 70s,
and 80s have a lot to say and 90s
too. Each woman will get a book
to read the others' stories, and look
at all of the pictures, and the art
that has been made. It will show a start
to history that hasn't had much
written about before, not a touch.

Stay tuned for when I finish this project. I hope to celebrate the accomplishment in May with an event planned for our local art center. My attempt at this project is with a grant from the Arrowhead Regional Arts Council.
And of course, I am grateful for my few years of writing on Vocal Media and medium.com. I have enough confidence now to attempt this project.

The blend of writing, art, photography and lived experience makes this book feel like something truly meaningful and lasting.
Wow you have done well so far. Keep up the great work! The finish line is nigh.
Well, congratulations on such a feat in writing. I hope to see your work in bookstores one day and if I can afford it I will buy it. Good job.
I'm glad there's something to look forward to, in place of NaNoWriMo. I wish you all the best!
