I have 5 fingers, to wave at the ones I think of, Five hellos for greetings, with sunshine or with a sniffle.
A wave for the bus driver, a wave for the morning light, A wave for a friend who's new, and a wave for one taking flight.
But goodbyes take a different hand, a single finger held high, A silent "see you soon," with a tear in my eye.
For goodbyes, though they sting, promise hellos to come, Five fingers outstretched, for adventures yet to be won.
Each finger a story, a memory held tight, A wave for the playground, a wave for the starry night; A wave for mistakes made all my life...
A wave for a dream whispered, a wave for a hurt that's healed, A wave for the world waiting, its wonders to be revealed.
So I'll keep waving hello, with all five fingers unfurled, Embracing each encounter, in this ever-changing world.
And when goodbyes whisper low, a single finger I'll raise, Knowing new hellos are waiting, in the sunlit future's maze.
