after the panic | for the Sensational II Challenge

It's blurry, but here is the scar on my hand, the green succulents bending toward the sun, my favorite blue pen, the crocheted orange pumpkin sitting on my desk, and my fingers on the keyboard.

Now I feel my skin, cold and sweaty, the softness of my curls, the felt of the pumpkin's leaves, and the chair's fabric in my clenching hand.

My breath slows, in and out, as I crack my fingers one by one, and you whisper "I'm here" into my hair.

A calming mixture of lavender and lemons permeates the air

right before I taste your love on my lips.

From your bio - ‘My inner child screams joyfully as I fall back in love with writing’ and this is indeed a gift to the Vocal+ community. The absolute terror of a panic attack has to be experienced. I felt like I was there with you during your return... Pauline 🌸

An interesting mix of sensations and you gave it just the right amount of edge. Good job!

The imagery and symbolism were striking—each number felt like a step closer to an emotional release or revelation. There’s something powerful in how you capture the layers of feelings, from anxiety to acceptance, as the numbers fall away. It felt like an exploration of the human experience, where moments of crisis, reflection, and clarity all collide.
