Page one of three hundred and sixty five
A blank slate for creating
Another year journeying life
Shredding the box that I was held in
Drawing proudly outside the lines
Shedding that skin and sins, unyielding
Displaying the scars that come with time
Claiming the freedom from its healing
Remembering that what has passed
No longer holds the power
Reforming and setting new casts
Taking advantage of these hours
Learning from mistakes I made
Deciding now, what’s worth repeating
Wiping clean another slate
Absolving the ones brimming with meaning
So, here’s to more living and learning
Here’s to wiping off the dirt
Here’s to gathering the hurting
Here’s to putting in the work
Here’s to believing that I’m worthy
Here’s to picking up that towel
Here’s to loving this one journey
And living my life out loud
