Take me Back

By The Girl in GreyPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Dancing lights and greased up men in corvettes

Sequined dresses and green-watered fountains

Rich boys catching delicate little women in their butterfly nets

And then there's the same eagles flying beyond the mountains

Trumpets and brick roads lacing their paths

Step to the beat of your part and let it play

Blind in all the alcohol and old school jazz

Once you arrive here, you'll always want to stay

Hearst-built walls in a Gatsby birthed mansion

Walls filled with the gel of your hearts desires

Waiting for tonight, for lambs to fall to the lions

Each and every note taking your iris even higher

Glittering champagne glasses, cheers to a copy-cat night

Ready to live in today, for the rest of our lives

So many smiles, that even Pan has to hide

It feels so crazy, like a hurricane come to life

Flappers and burlesque dancers shining ever single corner

Before young children knew about the birds and bees

Take me back to the beginning of gangsters

Time manipulate me back into the 1920s

Love always,

Chayle
