He hates himself

And gets everything but

He lives with a guilt

He's down in a rut

He smiles and laughs and that emanates to all

How can he fly when he's too afraid to fall

When your only enemy is yourself

And the battle is fierce

You try to be happy

But instead your hearts pierced

By an internal conflict that doesn't seem like much

But nobody knows the pain that he's suffered

Self loathing expectations and all of that stuff

Exceeding expectations

But still not enough

He smiles and laughs and that doesn't change

But on the day of his birth he now feels so estranged

He's only done good but he feels so ashamed

No one can fix this kind of insane

But some can relate

And to that we leave fate

That he finds someone who shares his internal hate

And together they suffer

But that won't be shown

Because hurting together

Beats hurting alone
