10 years

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

It’s been 10 years and I cling on to what you sound like.

It’s been 10 years and I cling on to what being in your embrace feels like.

It’s been 10 years and I wear a necklace with your face on it.

It’s been 10 years, since I last saw you.

It’s been 10 years, since I last heard your voice, heard your laugh and seen your smile.

It’s been 10 years, since I saw your casket being lowered into the ground.

I never thought that you’d be gone so soon. No one did. It all happened so suddenly.

It’s been 10 years, and I know that you’ve been looking over me all this time.

It’s been 10 years, and I’ve heard every story in the book, about you and I think about how alike you and I are, so people have said.

It’s been 10 years and I hope I am making you proud.

There’s not a day that goes by that you don’t cross my mind. I think about you every day I wake up and every night before I got to bed.

I think about the good, bad, happy, and sad. I love you and I’m glad to call you my mother.

Happy Mother’s Day 💕 1981-2010 👩🏽‍🦱

Forever in my heart, until the day I die.
