I look out the window
I see a city swallowed by pink and blue
(I feel the grip in my chest )
The crimson peach sun glaring
It passing beyond us
(I want to cry)
The glass reflects the glow of the last light
A sparkling melody
(I surrender a tear)
I listen to the music flowing into my ears
I hear the pinks and blues
(The grip won’t let me be)
How can I see something so beautiful
And yet I feel so sad?
Even now- I’m overwhelmed
The beauty of life
The beauty of life surrounding me
Is it because I feel like it’s unattainable
(I can’t see the keys)
