Running on empty

Phone is dead

Gas is almost gone

Fridge is nearly empty

Money is never enough

Feeling pretty rough

Wanna get out of my mind

Sick and tired of life's grind

Thought we'd have more

Can't buy from the store

Bills as high as a skyscraper

Brain, nothing, but vapor

So, sit in a stupor

Feeling so-not-super

Embarrassed and ashamed

Mind goes crazy, untamed

Thought it would be different

Always feeling ignorant

Maybe, a second job will do

Stresses continue to accrue

Seems like adults aren't that adult

Life's experience and jacking jilt

On what stuff is my hope built

Must have a foundation

Some level, or station

Don't want to stay at zero percent
